The University of Delaware’s Building X recently opened its doors to dozens of state legislators and construction managers who’ve worked on the nearly completed facility for a tour to learn about its “cutting edge” design and its extensive economic impact on the community.
In 2024, DUCA successfully lobbied to defeat legislation removing prevailing wage requirements on school districts and charter schools construction projects.
In 2023, DUCA successfully advocated for Community Workforce Agreements, also called Project Labor Agreements, between contractors and subcontractors and local labor organizations for specific construction projects. Under the signed Senate Bill 35, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the Department of Transportation were required to designate six public works projects for these agreements.
DUCA in 2019 lobbied for the implementation of the Delaware Contractor Registration Act, considered to be the most significant change in the law to address misclassification and other types of workplace fraud.
